Walter Jaime Hawkins

In May 2011, my family and I began a fresh, unique, and vibrant ministry. My name is Jamie Hawkins, and I would like to invite you to Transforming Love Christian Center "TLC2," in Downtown Oakland California, where our church is located.

At Transforming Love Christian Center, we are on a mission to fortify families, model Christian character, and help people pursue authentic relationships with Jesus Christ.

From our first meeting at a small restaurant in Berkeley, California until now, we're continuing to see God's abundance! In this year alone, we've secured our first church building and grown steadily-not just in number, but also in relationship with God and with each other.

In the coming months we plan to continue to establish TLC2 as a loving home of Christ-centered congregants.

We're excited about what God is doing at TLC2. We would love to have your company here very soon.

God's best to you and yours,

Tyretha Parker

Our Verse

All that the Father gives me will come to me, and the one who comes to me I will certainly not cast out.  For I have come down from Heaven, not to do my own will, but the will of Him who sent me.  This is the will of Him who sent me, that of all that He has given me I lose nothing, but raise it up on the last day …

Our Beliefs

Since our birth as an evangelical, non-denominational community church in 2007, all pastors, elders, teachers and members have affirmed the following Statement of Faith, shared by tens of thousands of churches aligned with the National Association of Evangelicals.

Our Vision

We will devote the time and energy necessary to live out and promote the true Gospel message  to the world at large.  We will  advocate, while living out to the best of our ability, the Gospel Message to advance our Father's Kingdom.

I grew up in church, but church-as-usual didn't help me. I was hurting and wounded, and I wanted more out of church than just a building to go to, where I left the same way that I came in.

Through my brokenness, I realized I needed a real encounter with Jesus and I needed to be surrounded with and supported by His people. The Lord has confronted me with His truth and He has given me the fellowship I have so desired.
